INTRODUCTION

Cardiac emergencies occur frequently in all critical care settings, and often present suddenly and without warning. This seminar will address the pathophysiology and management of most life-threatening cardiac events. Content will include nursing care priorities, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiovascular pharmacology related to specific topics. Clinical scenarios will be utilized to emphasize the most relevant content, provide practical application, and build confidence and competence in clinical practice. Presented by an experienced critical care nurse who is also a nationally known nurse educator, this program provides an enjoyable and productive educational opportunity.
