INTRODUCTION
A 35-year old female arrives in the Emergency Department after being “found down” by a neighbor in her
bedroom. She has multiple bruises and abrasions on her face and neck, and the front door of her home
was found unlocked. Resuscitative efforts fail, death is pronounced, and the medical examiner is notified.
A forensic autopsy will be performed to determine cause and manner of death. Was this an accident,
suicide, or homicide? Preservation of trace evidence and maintenance of chain of custody are essential
responsibilities of both law enforcement and health care professionals.
In this unique seminar, you will have the rare opportunity to hear first-hand from a medical
examiner with decades of experience in forensics. He is a lively and energetic lecturer, and this seminar is fascinating as
well as educational. If you are involved in a clinical setting where deaths are referred to the medical examiner
or coroner for evaluation, consider attending this seminar. You’ll be glad you did.
